Glossary

Every GrowthOS term the docs use, defined once. Pages link here on a term's first use.

One concept, one word. Every domain term in these docs is defined here, and every page links to the entry the first time it uses the term. If you meet a word the docs don't define, that's a gap: tell your strategist.

Agent

An automated worker inside GrowthOS. Agents research your market, propose opportunities, write drafts, and score the pages you already have. Every agent stops at a proposal: nothing publishes and nothing moves forward until you review it and decide.

See Agents draft, you decide.

AI Search split

The breakdown of your traffic that arrives from an answer engine rather than from a search result, shown by engine.

See At a Glance.

AI Visibility Segment

A slice of your market that GrowthOS watches inside AI answer engines: where you are cited, and who is cited instead.

See AI Viz Segments.

Analysis zone

The part of your site GrowthOS crawls and analyzes. Zone scope drives analysis cost, so zones are set deliberately rather than defaulting to the whole site.

See Analysis zones.

Annotation

A note you leave on a draft saying what is off and why, instead of silently rewriting it. Annotations accumulate as pending feedback and fold into your writing profile when someone clicks Update profile. Annotating is what teaches the next draft; editing is not.

Answer engine

An AI product that answers questions directly instead of returning a list of links: ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google's AI Overviews.

Brief

The plan for one page: the research, structure, and targeting a draft is written from.

See Briefs.

Cluster

A group of related opportunities built around one topic, worked as a set. Deleting a cluster removes the territory itself (its topics and their questions); opportunities it already produced survive, losing only the cluster link.

Connector

A link from GrowthOS to Google Analytics or Google Search Console. Connectors feed every traffic figure in the product. GrowthX sets them up; if one reports a problem, raise it with your strategist.

See Websites.

Context

What GrowthOS knows about your company: what you do, the market you sit in, the buyers you write for, and how you sound. Held on 8 screens, and every agent reads context before it does anything.

See Context & voice.

Crawl

GrowthOS reading your sitemap (the file listing every page on your site) to build its copy of your pages. Page counts come from the crawl, not from Google, so they appear even before analytics are connected.

Foundation

The base layer of your context: 4 documents covering what your company does (Company Overview), the market it sits in (Ecosystem), what you sell (Product & Features), and who you sell it to (Ideal Customer).

See Foundation.

Grouping

An axis your content portfolio can be sliced along in the Pages Portfolio, such as funnel stage or product line.

See Groupings.

Opportunity

A page worth writing or rewriting, proposed by an agent with the reasoning attached. Opportunities wait for your triage: accepting one is what starts production.

See Opportunities.

Pages Portfolio

The list of every URL on your site, scored individually. This is where the page-level numbers behind a workspace-level change live.

See Pages Portfolio.

Performance band

One of 5 labels describing the direction of a page's traffic against the previous period: Freefall, Declining, Stable, Growing, Surging. A band describes a direction, not a level. Pages with no traffic sit outside the bands entirely.

Persona

A buyer your content speaks to, and what that buyer is trying to find out.

See Personas.

Setup Autopilot

The chain of agents GrowthX runs before you first sign in. It researches your company and market from public sources and drafts your context. What you meet is the result, not the run, and correcting that result is your first real task in a new workspace.

Site sync

The connection that keeps GrowthOS's copy of your site current. GrowthX configures site sync.

See Site sync.

Strategist

Your GrowthX contact: the person who configures your workspace, runs the parts of the product that sit outside it, and takes the corrections only you can catch.

Taxonomy

Your own categories for classifying content, such as funnel stage or product line.

See Taxonomy.

Topic

An entry in the map of what your market is asking about, and how much of it your site answers today.

See Topics.

Workspace

Everything GrowthOS knows and does for one brand. Every figure, page, and agent in your workspace covers that brand only.

Writing profile

The compiled version of how you sound. Every draft starts from it, and it is the only place annotations become voice: pending feedback folds in when Update profile is clicked.

See Writing Profile.
